Fallout Shelter Ecovillage (FoSE) Media Policy: The Public-Private Privacy Gradient at FoSE
Part of the mission of FoSE is to share our experiments in sustainability with the world at large, and we welcome opportunities to have these experiments documented by journalists, researchers, photographers, and the public at large. However, it is important to remember that those of us who live at FoSE are “real people with real lives,” and, as such, we have varying needs for privacy as well.
We ask that photographers, journalists, researchers, or anyone else seeking to document the lives of people at FoSE adhere to the following guidelines:
1) Make clear arrangements to be hosted at FoSE (see Visitor page of our website) before your arrival.
2) Let your host know of your intention to document our community and how you intend to use the information or photographs. This will be shared with the community.
3) If you would like to take photographs, interview or record individual people in any way, ask their permission to do so first.
4) If you wish to photograph homes or other private spaces not visible from the public paths, ask the permission of the people who live or work there.
5) Many folks who live here do not wish to be photographed at the hot springs. Please do not take photographs at the hot springs unless you have previously arranged to photograph a particular individual.
